Soldotna’s Melanie Griffith, 31, won the Trent Waldron Half Marathon on Saturday in Anchorage.
Griffith finished the race in 1 hour, 20 minutes, 12 seconds, while Yvonne Jeschke of Anchorage was second at 1:22:42. Homer’s Abby Shealy also got into the top 10, running 1:43:38 to finish eighth.
Griffith also won the age-graded awards for the half-marathon with a time of 1:19:54, while Anchorage’s April Nelson, 51, was second at 1:22:34.
In the men’s half marathon, Soldotna’s Jacob Marshall was second at 1:27:18. James Shelley of Lexington, Kentucky, won at 1:26:34.
In the women’s 10-kilometer race, Kasilof’s Eva Abel got into the top 10 by finishing fourth at 47:17. In the men’s 10K, Jacob Delgado of Moose Pass was third at 42:27, while Kasilof’s Colin Abel was eighth at 46:35.
