SoHi swimmers win 7 of 8 dual meets in Kodiak

The Soldotna swim team won seven of eight dual meets Friday and Saturday in Kodiak.

The Stars swam meets Friday and Saturday against Kodiak and Wasilla. The computer then calculates what the dual meet score would have been between Kodiak and Soldotna, and Wasilla and Soldotna.

Friday, the Soldotna boys defeated Wasilla 115-27, but lost to Kodiak 81-76. The girls topped Wasilla 96-49 and Kodiak 88-57.

Saturday, the SoHi boys topped Wasilla 127-16 and defeated Kodiak 88-72. The Soldotna girls defeated Wasilla 97-56 and Kodiak 83-64.

For the SoHi boys Friday, Owen Walker took the 100-yard butterfly in 1 minute, 6.82 seconds, while Noah Johnson won the 500 freestyle in 6:33.50.

For the SoHi girls Friday, the 400 freestyle relay of Dorothy Brown, Allyse Chase, Zoe Burns and Gen Sheldon won at 4:27.97.

Burns also won the 200 freestyle in 2:13.74 and the 100 butterfly in 1:14.24, while Anna Flynn captured the 500 freestyle in 7:03.45.

Saturday for the SoHi boys, the 200 medley relay of Walker, Johnson, Michael Davidson and Patric Wilcox won at 2:00.81.

Dwight Brown won the 200 individual medley in 2:33.33, while Davidson won the 100 butterfly in 1:01.08.

For the Stars girls, Brown, Sheldon, Chase and Burns won the 200 medley relay in 2:22.71.

Burns won the 500 freestyle in 6:11.47, while Sheldon won the 100 breast in 1:27.88.

SoHi hockey won the End of the Road tournament in Homer and the wrestling team gained 20 individual wins.
