Soldotna High School graduate Shane Sundberg won the Simpson University (California) Spring Invite on Monday and Tuesday, March 24 and 25, at Riverview Golf and Country Club in Redding, California.
Sundberg is a sophomore at Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay, Oregon.
After firing a 7-under 65 in the first round of the tournament for a new school record, Sundberg closed out a four-shot win by carding a 3-over 75 the second day.
Southwestern Oregon Community College also won the men’s team title at the tournament, which included nine schools.

Among the schools at the tournament was Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls, where Sundberg will continue his studies and golf next season.
