The Soldotna girls basketball team defeated Fullerton Union High School of California 42-39 Saturday in the opening round of the So Cal Holiday Prep Classic in San Diego.
Fullerton is a school of about 2,300 students. The So Cal Holiday Prep Classic is a massive event in San Diego, with 64 teams broken into eight divisions.
The Stars are in the FIBA Gold Division and played their game Saturday at The Bishop’s School in La Jolla, California.
