The Soldotna volleyball team finished a weekend Northern Lights Conference sweep in Kodiak on Saturday with a 25-20, 25-17 and 25-14 victory.
The Stars moved to 2-0 in the league and 4-0 in nontournament play.
Senior Morgan Simac returned to the court for the Stars after a few weeks off due to injury.
“It was great having her back on the floor again,” SoHi head coach Luke Baumer said. “She’s a leader, so the girls were able to have a little bit more discipline on the floor.”
Simac had nine kills and a block.
Teagen Kobylarz had 25 assists and 13 digs, while Grayson Henry had 13 digs.
Baumer said Kodiak attacked the right side to try to take Kobylarz out of the game, but Kobylarz still did a good job running the offense while playing great defense.
Gracelyn Altobelli had eight kills, a block and five aces, while Cassidy Kruse had seven kills and Ashlyn Hall had a block.
“Our serve-receive and our defense did a really great job,” Baumer said. “It was great being able to have our girls really understand their assignments.”
SoHi will host Homer in nonconference action at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
