Palmer’s Inokuma sets course record in 100-miler at Res Pass Ultras

Palmer’s Meg Inokuma won the 100-miler at the Resurrection Pass Ultra Races on Friday and Saturday and set a new women’s course record in the process.

Inokuma was the women’s and overall winner in 20 hours, 52 minutes. The course starts in Hope, takes the Resurection Pass trail to Cooper Landing, then returns on the Resurection Pass trail with a side trip down and up the Devil’s Creek trail.

The current course has been used since 2013, with Shawn McTaggart setting the previous record in 2014 at 22:01:36. The 100-miler has been run since 2003. Inokuma also set the record for all of the courses that have been used. Inokuma also has the all-courses record for the 50-miler after winning the event in 2020 and 2021.

Seldovia’s Erin McKittrick was the second woman and second overall at 23:42, while Torrey Short was the top man at 25:36.

The 50-miler had a record 63 finishers. It starts in Cooper Landing and goes to Hope on the Resurrection Pass trail, with the side trip on the Devil’s Creek trail. The 50-miler started in 1996.

Christian Herrmann was the overall and men’s winner in the 50-miler at 7:43, while Briana Sullivan was the top woman and fourth overall at 8:24.
