Leadens, Stockman win Powder Puff races at Twin City Raceway

Mercedes Leadens and Kyla Stockman were the winners at the Power Puff Race on Saturday, July 26, at Twin City Raceway.

Leadens won the Powder Puff Legends race, while Stockman won the Powder Puff Mini Stock.

Stockman also had a big night in the regular Mini Stock category, taking the feature and Heat 2. Jared Hutchings won Heat 1.

In the Sprints, Mady Stichal swept the feature, plus Heats 1 and 2.

The other sweep of the evening went to Jimmie Hale in A Stock.

In Legends, Brent Roumagoux took the feature, while Josh Boone captured Heat 1 and Sara Boone won Heat 2. It was the first checkered flag for Sara Boone.

In Modifieds, Clay Petersen won the feature and Heat 2. Jesse Yancy took Heat 1.

The next race date for Kenai Peninsula Racing Lions – Circle Track Division is Saturday, Aug. 16, for the Legends Dirty 30. The time trials start at 3 p.m., while the racing starts at 5 p.m.

Sports briefs: Soldotna hockey, wrestling teams secure wins at weekend tournaments

SoHi hockey won the End of the Road tournament in Homer and the wrestling team gained 20 individual wins.

The Kenai Central High School varsity volleyball team is named the 2025 3A Volleyball State Championship Tournament, held Nov. 13-15, 2025, at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
