The host Kenai Central volleyball team defeated Seward 3-0 on Friday in Southcentral Conference action.
The Kardinals are 1-0 in the league and 1-0 overall, while the Seahawks are 0-1 in the league and 0-1 overall.
Sophie Tapley had 14 kills, 18 digs and a pair of aces to lead Kenai. Bryleigh Williams added seven kills, while Sage Williams had four aces. Gracee Every had 22 assists for Kenai, and also had two aces.
Kenai will travel to face Soldotna in nonconference action Friday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m., while Seward will host Nikiski in conference action on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 5 p.m.
