Kenai girls, SoHi boys swimmers capture Seward Invite

The Kenai Central girls and Soldotna boys swim teams won Seward Invitational titles Saturday in Seward.

The Kardinals girls scored 145 points for the victory,while SoHi was second at 58, Homer was third at 37 and Seward was fourth at 21.

On the boys side, the Stars scored 117 points to win, while Seward and Kenai Central tied for second with 61, and Homer took fourth with seven.

Abigail Price won the 200-meter freestyle and 100 breaststroke to lead Kenai to the win. The Kards also received wins from Isla Crouse in the 200 individual medley and Eden Alioto in the 100 freestyle.

The team of Maria Anderson, Crouse, Sierra Hershberger and Price also won the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Soldotna received wins from Charisma Watkins in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. The Stars team of Heidi Snyder, Jessica Wilcox, Ariel Wheeler and Watkins won the 200 freestyle relay.

Aubrey Wilder had a win in the 500 freestyle for Seward.

For the Soldotna boys, Benn Abel won the 200 freestyle, Nikita Monyahan won the 100 freestyle and Dwight Brown won the 500 freestyle. The team of Michael Davidson, Enoch Frederickson, Monyahan and Abel also won the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay.

For the Seahawks, Nickolas Ambrosiani won the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke, while Bengimin Ambrosiani won the 200 individual medley and Iver Gates won the 100 butterfly. The Ambrosianis, Gates and Philip Trobaugh also won the 400 freestyle relay.

Jody Goodrich won the 100 breaststroke for Homer.
