Hoops roundup

The host Ninilchik boys notched a 54-40 nonconference victory over Point Lay on Monday.

Ninilchik, which did not commit a foul in the game, had a 17-8 lead after a quarter and a 37-15 lead at halftime.

George Nelson paced a balanced Ninilchik attack with 17 points, while Kenneth Neakok had 12 points for Point Lay and Iqsi Lane added 10.

Visiting Point Lay came back from a 11-4 deficit after the first quarter to claim a nonconference win Monday.

Lillian Itta had 15 points for Point Lay, while Anny Henry pitched in 13. For Ninilchik, Madi Cooper had 10 points.
