Homer’s Story, Soldotna’s Welch score victories at massive meet

The Homer and Seward swimming and diving teams competed in the Bartlett/Chugiak Invite on Friday and Saturday in Anchorage. Soldotna also sent divers to the Chugiak Invite.

Homer finished fifth on the girls side with 46 points, while champion Dimond had 138 and Seward was tied for 13th with 6. On the boys side, the Mariners also were fifth with 34 points, while Dimond won with 191 and Seward was 11th with 10.

Two peninsula athletes were able to score victories at the massive meet. Homer’s Madison Story won the 200 individual medley in 2 minutes, 17.36 seconds, while Soldotna’s Kylin Welch scored 444.70 points to win the diving.
