Homer wrestlers go to Washington tournaments

The Homer wrestling team took part in two postseason tournaments in the state of Washington.

Senior Alex Moseley wrestled in the Kelso Girls Tournament in Kelso, Washington, on Friday and Saturday. Moseley went 4-2 at the tournament, placing seventh out of 45 girls.

Six boys went to the Gut Check Challenge in Bremerton, Washington, on Friday and Saturday.

Senior Tristen Cook, wrestling at 182 pounds, placed third by going 6-1, with that one loss coming by one point. Cook also notched three pins in the tournament, giving him the Homer all-time lead at 93. Cook passed Mitch Wyatt and Louden Greiner, who each had 91 pins.

Junior Luciano Fasulo won his first three matches, but then dropped a one-point match to the eventual runner-up and went on to place sixth.

Three of the other Homer wrestlers missed getting in the top eight by one match.
