Peninsula stays at Mulcahy Stadium to face the Anchorage Glacier Pilots at 6:10 p.m. Saturday.

The Bucs lead the league at 15-6, while the Oilers and Mat-Su Miners are at 11-9. The Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks are 7-11, while the Pilots are 8-17.

Oilers starter Cody New and reliever Mose Hayes, a product of Homer High School and the American Legion Post 20 Twins program, combined to hold the powerful Anchorage lineup to one unearned run and four hits.

New went the first five innings, giving up the unearned run on four hits while walking four and striking out seven.

Hayes did not give up a run or hit in four innings, walking one and striking out three.

The Oilers got all the offense they needed in the top of the second when Max Roffwarg walked with one away then went to second on a single by Ty Thomas.

A passed ball moved the runners up a station, then Andres Mitat knocked both in with his second hit of the season.

The Bucs battled back in the second when Ryan Callahan led off with a walk, went to second on an error, then scored on a single by Brody Briggs.

Wyatt Halvorson gave up two runs on five hits in three innings for the Bucs, while Rylan Haider pitched 3 1-3 scoreless innings and Andrew Rudd pitched two scoreless innings.

Cole Dawson was 2 for 4 for the Oilers.
