Dixon, Aldridge capture Tri Nikiksi titles

Adam Dixon and Morgan Aldridge won the Tri Nikiski on Saturday, Aug. 19.

The event features a 500-yard swim, 10.6-mile bike ride and five-kilometer run.

Dixon finished at 1 hour, 5 minutes and 7 seconds to take the men’s and overall victory.

Aldridge was just 30 seconds off the pace to take top honors for women and also second overall.

The next two across the line also were women — Jen Schmidt at 1:08:56 and Amy Anderson at 1:10:06.

Chad Anderson was the second man across the line at 1:14:04, while Justin Walton was the third man at 1:16:36.

The top team was Splish, Flash and Dash, made up of Sidney Epperheimer, Simone Owens and Sarah Pribbenow. The squad finished at 1:21:25.

The second-place team was Mush On, made up of Pamela Schamber and Mira Franz. They had a time of 1:21:57.

The third-place team was Keep Uppy, made up of Molli Sansotta, Erin Sansotta and Tamara Hibberd, finishing at 1:29:18.

Team Croissant was the first youth team. Uriah Smith, Bennett Martin and Leif Laker finished at 1:27:26.

You, Me, and Some Guy was the second youth team. Elias Sundheim, Sawyer Johnson and Micah Bunker finished at 1:35:32.

The event was put on by The Compass, which exists to help youth navigate the challenging teen years.

SoHi hockey won the End of the Road tournament in Homer and the wrestling team gained 20 individual wins.

The Kenai Central High School varsity volleyball team is named the 2025 3A Volleyball State Championship Tournament, held Nov. 13-15, 2025, at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
