Colony swimmers sweep Homer Invite

The Colony swimming and diving teams swept the Homer Invite on Saturday at Homer High School.

The Knights girls scored 103 points for the win, while runner-up Kenai Central had 94. Soldotna was fourth and Homer was fifth.

On the boys side, Colony had 100, while the runner-up Kardinals notched 75. SoHi was right behind with 71 in third, while Homer was sixth.

The Kards girls did manage to pick up four individual wins and a relay win.

Abigail Price took home two individual wins — the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 5.42 seconds, and the 100 butterfly in 1:02.16.

She also teamed with Emma Castimore, Isla Crouse and Kailey Crouse to win the 200 medley relay in 2:01.60.

Castimore won the 100 backstroke in 1:10.16, while Molli Sansotta took the 100 breaststroke in 1:18.09.

On the boys side, Jacob Merritt won the 100 butterfly for the Kards at 1:04.88.

Kenai’s Lyman McBride, Peyton Katzenberger, Fletcher Darr and Bennett Martin also teamed to win the 400 freestyle relay at 3:48.62.
