The Cook Inlet Academy coed soccer team moved to 10-2 on the season by defeating host Susitna Valley 3-1 on Thursday.

After a rainy first half saw neither team score, Kate Zimmerman assisted on a goal by Noah Leaf just two minutes into the second half for a 1-0 CIA lead. Just four minutes later, Jiabao Leaf struck from 40 yards out when the ball skipped over the goalkeeper on the slick turf. In the 71st minute, Noah Leaf laid the ball off to Jiabao Leaf, whose shot was saved. But Hunter Moos converted the rebound.

The Rams ruined the shutout of CIA goalie Brady Hammond with three minutes left. CIA coach Kenny Leaf said Hammond had some big saves to keep the game scoreless in the first half, while center back Dalton Warren and outside defender Adara Warren also had solid games in back.
