Behney, Ostrander take 5th Salmon Run Series

Zach Behney and Taylor Ostrander were the winners at the fifth and final Salmon Run Series race Wednesday at Tsalteshi Trails.

Behney finished the five-kilometer course in 19 minutes, 23 seconds, to take the overall win and his first win of the series.

Ostrander won her fourth series race this summer in four tries by finishing second overall at 19:44.1, while Allie Ostrander crossed the line third at 19:44.3.

Soldotna’s Tania Boonstra took first place for the girls’ division, leading her team to victory at the meet. The Homer girls’ varsity team placed second overall.
