Kyle Aber of Soldotna won the Progess Days Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday at the course at Tsalteshi Trails. Aber and Paul Tornow both turned in rounds of 3-under 59. A cardback was then used to separate the two, and Aber’s par on the tough, uphill, par-4 18th hole won the day because Tornow had a bogey on the hole. Glenn Yamada and Scott Johnson both fired rounds of 60, meaning a cardback also was needed for third place. Yamada took third place because he had a par on the par-4 19th hole, while Johnson took a bogey. Kyle McCown finished in fifth place with a 64, while Jeff Helminiak was sixth with a 66 and Lance Chilton was seventh with an 83. The event was put on by the Tsalteshi Trails Association to raise awareness of the 19-hole course, which starts behind the track at Skyview Middle School.
