"When it's windy, (the steam) gets whisked away, but when it's calm and clear, it usually has a chance to stay and linger about," said geologist Game McGimsey of the Alaska Volcano Observatory. According to AVO, the steam does not indicate a coming eruption. "There is nothing unusual happening at Mt. Redoubt," McGimsey said.
