The Kenai Peninsula Clarion is seeking a full-time General Reporter to join its dynamic team.
This role is ideal for a journalist who thrives on accountability journalism, enjoys a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for informing civic dialogue.
This position includes:
- Daily focus on news and feature reporting
- Breaking news and general assignment reporting
- Publishing stories to the web and twice-weekly print edition
- Building relationships with key sources and maintaining transparency through watchdog reporting
- Taking photographs and contributing to the Empire’s growing digital and social platforms
Skills and attributes:
- At least two years of professional journalism experience
- A deep understanding of journalistic ethics and commitment to factual accuracy
- Proficiency in AP Style, basic photography, and CMS/web publishing tools
- Ability to file timely, clean copy and work both independently and collaboratively
- Interest in engaging readers across digital platforms, including newsletters and social media
