Once the departing convoy was out of sight, the group dashed back into their cars to follow the player's school bus that was being escorted by the Central Emergency Services and Soldotna police and fire departments. The school beat out the top ranked team in Alaska to secure a spot in the state tournament, said mother Katie Olson.
