The host Wasilla soccer teams swept Kenai Central on Thursday in nonconference action.
The Kardinals girls fell to the Warriors 2-1 to fall to 4-2 overall. Kenai had just lost to Wasilla 2-1 in overtime on Saturday in the final of the Homer Soccer Tourney.
Kenai head coach Jeff Siemers wrote in a text message that it was another battle.
The Warriors scored in the ninth minute to take a 1-0 lead into the half. Wasilla scored again in the 43rd minute before an unassisted tally by Katie Johnson made it 2-1 in the 47th minute.
The Kardinals boys fell to 1-0 to drop to 4-3-1 on the season. Despite the three losses, Kenai has yet to give up a goal that wasn’t a penalty kick or an own goal.
Kenai head coach Shane Lopez said in a text message that his squad gave up an own goal and couldn’t find the equalizer.
