The honors keep rolling in for Kenai Central graduate and Boise State freshman Allie Ostrander.

Ostrander makes an appearance in the current issue of Sports Illustrated in the “Faces in the Crowd” section, but it was her work in the classroom that got her noticed last week.

Ostrander was named to the Fall 2015 Academic All-Mountain West Team that was announced Thursday.

To be eligible, student-athletes must have completed one academic term, gotten a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better and have been a significant contributor on their athletic team.

By capping a sterling cross-country season by finishing second at NCAA Division I nationals and earning a 4.0 grade-point average while working toward her major of kinesiology, Ostrander met the criteria.
