Soldotna certifies election results

The Soldotna City Council on Wednesday certified the results of the Oct. 1 election. Linda Farnsworth-Hutchings and Jordan Chilson were reelected in uncontested races.

According to the results recorded on Tuesday by the Canvass Board of the City of Soldotna, included in a resolution approved by the council on their consent agenda, Farnsworth-Hutchings claimed 223 votes to 30 write-ins and Chilson claimed 251 votes to 23 write-ins.

Both will serve three-year terms ending in October 2027. Soldotna City Clerk Johni Blankenship administered oaths of office.

“Thanks for reelecting me,” Farnsworth-Hutchings said during the meeting. “I appreciate it, from the public, and I’m sure Jordan does too.”
