Learning for Life: Rhubarb recipes

Rhubarb recipes

When the calendar turns to July Alaskans can be sure rhubarb is available, in mass quantities! It’s time to enjoy a dish that is easily plant to plate in about 15 minutes. Rhubarb sauce needs just rhubarb, water and a sweetener. I usually use one of the rhubarb sauce recipes from the publication Rhubarb Recipes and substitute liquid stevia for the sugar. Other sweeteners can used as well. Rhubarb sauce has many uses such as a topping on yogurt, on hot cereal, or over ice cream. You can find the Rhubarb Sauce recipe and many more by going to http://uaf.edu/ces/pubs/catalog/ and enter Rhubarb Recipes (FNH-00064) in the search. We also have hard copies available for free in our office at 43961 Kalifornsky Beach Road, Suite A, Soldotna, AK 99669. We are located in the same building as the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
