The Cook Inlet Academy coed soccer team saw their early season roll come to an end Saturday with a 5-2 loss to Lumen Christi at Kincaid Park in Anchorage.

CIA started the weekend with a 3-0 win over Holy Rosary on Friday, thanks to a hat trick by Noah Leaf. Breona Delon had two assists. Goalkeeper Brady Hammond notched several crucial saves against Holy Rosary to keep a shutout in the first half, then Leaf, a senior captain, struck in the second half.

Saturday, Lumen Christi avenged a 7-2 loss to the Eagles last week with a dominant second half. After trailing 2-0 in the first half, Leaf and Delon each scored for CIA to forge a 2-2 tie by halftime.

However, the Archangels scored three unanswered goals to take the win. Freshman Jon Streff had a hat trick for Lumen.

CIA will take its 3-1 overall record to Delta Junction for a Thursday matchup, then it will be off to TriValley on Friday and Nenana on Saturday.
