Poem Remember

Not every Muslim is a terrorist..

Not every Irishman is a drunk..

Not every black man is a mugger..

Not every Frenchman is a coward..

Not every Mexican is a rapist..

Not every Jewish person is a banker..

Not every German represents Hitler..

Not every Englishman likes tea..

Not every Chinese is a tech wizard..

Not every Asian likes Thai food..

Not every Indian wears a sari..

Not every Eskimo lives in an igloo..

Not every man is abusive..

Not every woman is a victim..

We are one. We are us. We are them.

We cannot choose to hate simply because

The person next to us looks or speaks

Or believes differently. We are one.

Not every American is hate-filled, bigoted,

Racist, homophobic, gun-toting, or God

Fearing. We are one. We are Americans,

Of all races, all religions, all social strata.

We still rush to the aid of the less fortunate.

We still love our neighbors, for they are us.

And, most important, we cannot blame the

Innocent for the acts of the extreme. We must

Not let the real enemy pit us against each other.

We are one. Remember.
