The visiting Kenai Central football team lost 50-14 in nonconference action to Redington on Friday.
Both squads are now 1-1 overall. Kenai got a forfeit victory over Kodiak in Week 1, while the Huskies took a 16-8 loss to Barrow.
The Kardinals fumbled the opening kickoff and Redington was able to return it for a score.
Kenai responded with a long scoring drive, capped by a Garrett McCanna pass to Jamel Barnes.
Redington then ripped off the next 30 points to lead 38-6 at halftime.
The Kardinals cut it to 38-14 in the third quarter when Gunnar Stanley had a rushing touchdown. Stanley also tacked on the two-point conversion.
The Huskies closed the game with a pair of touchdowns.
The Kardinals stay in nonconference action when they travel to face Homer at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29. The game is a rematch of last season’s Division III state title game, which was won by Homer.
