Tuesday brought more than just ballot boxes to the Kenai Peninsula — it was also the first day of school for the school district.

Students in the central peninsula arrived back at school with backpacks ready for another year. At Mountain View Elementary School in Kenai, they were greeted with music and a bubble machine, bringing a little magic to the beginning of another year of learning.
