Three women crash after moose collision on the Sterling Highway

No one was injured, except the moose, in a three-vehicle wreck Monday evening on the Sterling Highway.

Alaska State Troopers were called to the scene of an accident after a Kasilof woman collided with a moose near mile 105 of the highway, according to a trooper dispatch.

Theresa Ann Holman hit a moose after it ran in front of her Honda, according to the report. While troopers were en route to the scene, two other vehicles — driven by Frances Ellen Martin, of Soldotna, and Olivia Sue Powell, of Sterling — collided after Martin tried to avoid the moose Holman had struck, according to the report.

Holman and Powell’s vehicles were lightly damaged, but Martin’s vehicle was disabled as a result of the crash.
