Sterling’s Aldridge finishes 9th in Gold Nugget Triathlon

Sterling’s Morgan Aldridge led the Kenai Peninsula with a ninth place finish at the Gold Nugget Triathlon on Sunday in Anchorage.

Over 1,200 finished the all-women’s triathlon, featuring a 400-yard swim, 12-mile bike ride and 3.25-mile run.

Kinsey Laine of Mckinleyville, California, won the event for a fourth time by finishing at 1 hour, 2 minutes and 2 seconds. Aldridge crossed at 1:08:35. She had the third fastest bike leg in the competition.

Also from the peninsula, Homer’s Stacey Buckelew was 43rd in 1:14:41, Seward’s Tara Craytor was 163rd in 1:24:06, Soldotna’s Sierra Smith was 186th in 1:25:08, Homer’s Amanda Miotke was 189th in 1:25:20, Soldotna’s Jill Franchino was 205th in 1:26:18, Soldotna’s Courtney Abel was 303rd in 1:31:04, Soldotna’s Heidi Sturgill was 344th in 1:32:58, Nikiski’s Frieda Tuttle was 349th in 1:33:01 and Soldotna’s Sarah Apsens was 370th in 1:34:11.

Also, Kenai’s Sonora Martin was 397th in 1:35:42, Kasilof’s Jessie Brown was 401st in 1:35:46, Homer’s Zoe Story was 442nd in 1:37:30, Soldotna’s Bethany Nyboer was 443rd in 1:37:35, Kenai’s Audra Evoy was 447th in 1:37:46, Kenai’s Jill Evoy was 470th in 1:38:45, Soldotna’s April Erhardt was 478th in 1:39:00, Soldotna’s Erin Sansotta was 483rd in 1:39:08, Seward’s Christy Phillips was 490th in 1:39:23 and Kenai’s Rena Kornstad was 500th in 1:39:38.

Also, Homer’s Sherry Pederson was 535th in 1:41:12, Seward’s A. Sawyer was 557th in 1:41:58, Nikiski’s Jessica Doth was 644th in 1:46:37, Kenai’s Brandi Mangione was 672nd in 1:47:59, Kenai’s Ryan Martin was 708th in 1:49:56, Sterling’s Catie Baldridge was 710th in 1:50:02, Kenai’s Lori Wagoner was 713th in 1:50:19, Soldotna’s Rebecca Hart was 718th in 1:50:42 and Soldotna’s Melody Hickey was 737th in 1:51:48.

Also, Seward’s Alexis Kaferstein was 798th in 1:55:07, Soldotna’s Josie Lloyd was 812th in 1:55:47, Anchor Point’s Brenna Overson was 835th in 1:57:05, Soldotna’s Kelsi Staton was 855th in 1:57:50, Kenai’s Tamara Hibberd was 858th in 1:58:00, Kenai’s Kristen Beverly was 901st in 2:01:21, Soldotna’s Valerie McKenney was 957th in 2:05:56, Sterling’s Sandy Stevens was 964th in 2:06:45, Soldotna’s Monica Skjold was 999th in 2:09:37 and Soldotna’s Jennifer Lancaster-Jackson was 1,005th in 2:10:06.

Also, Nikiski’s Jakelynn Wheeler was 1,068th in 2:15:59, Kenai’s Yvonne Oren was 1,109th in 2:23:17, Kenai’s Chole Keller was 1,111th in 2:23:47, Kasilof’s Margaret McGarry was 1,121st in 2:27:34, Kenai’s Shannon Dosko was 1,141st in 2:30:29, Kasilof’s Vanessa Perry was 1,143rd in 2:30:38, Kenai’s Kristen Mae Snow was 1,173rd in 2:42:39, Kenai’s Ashley Blatchford was 1,214th in 3:42:21 and Kenai’s Alice Snow was 1,216th in 4:18:02.
