The bracket is set for the Shayna Pritchard Memorial Volleyball Tournament today at Nikiski High School.
The bracket was set up by Friday pool play.
In Pool 1 on Friday, Homer defeated Bethel 25-8, 25-10, Kenai defeated Bethel 25-13, 25-7, and Kenai defeated Homer 25-12, 25-11. In Pool 2 on Friday, Sitka split with Barrow, winning 25-13 and losing 25-20; Barrow defeated Nikiski 25-21, 25-17; and Sitka defeated Nikiski 25-19, 25-22.
Kenai earned the top seed from Pool 1, while Sitka, due to a tiebreaker, earned the top seed from Pool 2.
In Saturday’s first round, Homer plays Nikiski at 9:30 a.m. and Barrow plays Bethel at 10:45 a.m. The losers of the first-round matches play for fifth place at 2:30 p.m.
The Homer-Nikiski winner takes on Sitka at noon, while the Barrow-Bethel winner takes on Kenai at 1:15 p.m. The winner of those matches plays for the championship at 5 p.m., while the loser plays for third place at 3:45 p.m.
