Hitchcock, Hippchen win Midnight Sun Run

The Family Fun in the Midnight Sun Run was held Saturday in Nikiski.

Becca Hitchcock won the women’s 5-kilometer race in 24 minutes, 39 seconds, while Tyler Hippchen won the men’s race in 21:29.

Age group winners on the women’s side were Teagan Jorgensen at 42:43 for 9 and under, Evangeline Mieterer at 58:06 for 10 to 19, Hitchcock for 20 to 39, Maureen Hadella at 56:47 for 40 to 59, and Maria Sweppy for 60 and over at 43:26.

Age group winners on the men’s side were Vaughn Stone at 43:39 for 9 and under, Hippchen for 10 to 19, Miles Jorgensen at 23:05 for 20 to 39, and Paul Hadella at 45:08 for 40 to 59.
