Gibson leads way at Besh Cup 1

Kenai Central sophomore Addison Gibson finished sixth in classic sprint races at Besh Cup 1 in Anchorage to lead Kenai Peninsula performers.

Gibson was racing in the girls under-16 category.

In the under-16 boys category, Soldotna freshman Jeremy Kupferschmid led the way for the area with a 12th-place finish, while SoHi’s Koby Vinson was 13th to also make it in the top 20.

In the boys race, Andre Lovett, a former Homer skier, led the way at 13th, while the girls race saw former SoHi skier Sadie Fox take 13th.

Besh Cup 2 will be in Anchorage today.
