The Peninsula Oilers won 10-0 in eight innings, invoking the run rule on the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks on Friday in Alaska Baseball League play at Lee Jordan Field in Chugiak.
The Oilers bounced back after losing due to the run rule, 12-2, on Thursday against the Anchorage Bucs at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage.
Peninsula is now 3-1 against the Chinooks this season.
The Mat-Su Miners lead the league at 16-11, while the Bucs (16-13) and the Anchorage Glacier Pilots (15-12) are both a game back.
The Oilers are 4.5 games back at 11-15, while the Chinooks are six games back at 10-17.
Peninsula travels to Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader against the Miners.
Against the Chinooks, the Oilers led 1-0 after the first, 5-0 after the third, 6-0 after the fifth and 10-0 after the eighth.
Connor Throneberry, William Grimm and Harrison Metz combined on the shutout for the Oilers.
Throneberry worked five innings for the win, giving up three hits and two walks while striking out four.
Grimm went two innings, giving up a hit while whiffing two.
Metz, of Legion Twins and Homer High fame, went an inning, allowing two hits.
The Oilers bashed out 13 hits in the game, including four doubles.
Owen McElfatrick was 2 for 4 with two runs, Drewbie Pinkston had a pair of RBIs, Nick Costello was 2 for 3 with two runs and Leighton Helfrick was 3 for 3 with two RBIs.
