Arneson wins Crazy Lazy

Homer Epic results posted

Lars Arneson, a 2009 graduate of Cook Inlet Academy, won the Crazy Lazy on Saturday in Palmer.

The Crazy Lazy is a 6-mile mountain loop with about 3,000 feet of elevation gain and loss that starts the mountain running season in Alaska.

Arneson won with a time of 1 hour, 57 seconds, while Seward’s Pyper Dixon was second at 1:02:32, Seward’s Erik Johnson was fifth at 1:05:04 and Soldotna’s Galen Hecht was ninth at 1:09:09.

The women’s win went to Palmer’s Christy Marvin at 1:11:13. Former Kenai Peninsula resident Meg Inokuma was second at 1:12:53, while Anchorage’s Julianne Dickerson, who was raised in Kenai and graduated from Wings Christian Academy in 2006, was third in 1:15:29.
