Anchorage’s Taylor Deal, a 2012 graduate of Kenai Central, led all Alaska women at the 129th Boston Marathon on Monday.
Deal, competing in the 18 to 39 age division, finished the 26.2-mile, hilly course in 2 hours, 54 minutes and 16 seconds to place 169th among women. Her effort averages out to 6:39 per mile.
Soldotna’s Lee Frey led Kenai Peninsula men by running 3:12:45 to finish No. 6,512 among men. Frey, competing in the 40 to 44 age division, ticked off the miles at an average of 7:21.
Ninilchik’s Mark Barbee ran 4:16:34 to finish No. 13,394 among men. Barbee, competing in the 60 to 64 age division, ran at a 9:47 pace.
