Local players added some spice to the 37th annual Shriners North-South football game Oct. 28 in Anchorage.
Soldotna senior Brandon Crowder played the biggest role with three touchdown passes to help the South team beat the North 56-3. SoHi senior Wendell Tuisuala, a two-time Northern Lights Conference Defensive Player of the Year, had a huge presence on defense and received Defensive Player of the Game afterward.
Soldotna’s Brenner Furlong and Jake Marcuson added defensive depth, while Kenai Central’s Rykker Riddall and Seth Kruse both played a role as well. Riddall took several carries as running back and Kruse played the inside linebacker spot.
