Local association names Realtor of the Year

Davis said Tuesday that she was surprised to win the award and be recognized by the people she works with

The Kenai Peninsula Association of Realtors last week named Amanda Davis of EXP Realty their 2024 Realtor of the Year.

A release from the association’s executive director, Kelly Martin, says that Davis was recognized for her principles and ethical practice; her activity within and without the association; and her business conduct.

“Amanda met all these and more and was nominated many times,” the release reads.

Davis said Tuesday that she was surprised to win the award and be recognized by the people she works with. Part of that surprise, she said, comes from the relatively few years she’s spent as a realtor, only coming to Alaska and getting her license around five years ago.

It’s because the community embraced her so warmly, she said, that she felt so driven to give back.

The release from the association says that Davis is a member of the local board of directors and that she was a leader on the state convention committee and a member of several others. At this year’s Kenai Peninsula Sport Rec & Trade Show, it reads, she worked the front gate “all day, every day,” greeting visitors. The release also cites Davis’ involvement in food drives and the duffel bag donations for Kenai Peninsula Borough School District’s Students in Transition.

“She gives silently, not wanting recognition, only wanting to help,” the release says. “She is an inspiration to many in the industry.”

This is the work that “I just do,” Davis said. She said she intends to continue working with buyers and sellers while seeking out ways to help others in the community. Meeting people on the Kenai Peninsula, she said, is why she and her family made the choice to move here.

“Anything I could do to give back, I wanted to.”
