A Homer woman is in jail after allegedly trying to make multiple purchases in the Anchor Point area with fake bills.
Alaska State Troopers arrested Rheanna Tussey, 24, on Saturday near Anchor Point. She reportedly used fake bills to make purchases at the Anchor Point Store on Friday, according to an online dispatch. Trooper identified a suspect but couldn’t locate her on Friday, according to the dispatch.
Then, the next day, the troopers got a report that she tried to use fake bills to buy a drink at Black Water Bend Espresso, where the cashier provided a description of a driver and vehicle.
“An investigation revealed that Rheanna Tussey … used fake currency to purchase a drink and she was in possession of a large quantity of other fake bills,” the dispatch states.
Tussey was arrested and charged with two counts of forgery in the first degree, a class B felony, and two counts of forgery in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor. She was arraigned Sunday at the Homer Courthouse.
