Announcing a new Peninsula Clarion print schedule

Our last Wednesday edition will be delivered June 26.

Beginning in July, the Peninsula Clarion will print once weekly, with papers delivered Fridays via mail. Our dedicated team of journalists remains committed to producing local news and will continue posting our award-winning reporting daily on our website — www.peninsulaclarion.com.

Our last Wednesday edition will be delivered June 26. We will publish our last Saturday paper July 6 and deliver readers a weekly paper every Friday following.

Sound Publishing and our parent company Carpenter Media have made this decision after careful thought and in recognition of a local and national media landscape that has seen changes in how both advertising and news content are consumed.

Courtesy Harvest On the Kenai Peninsula, a dormant liquefied natural gas export plant could be repurposed to receive cargoes of imported LNG under a plan being studied by Harvest, an affiliate of oil and gas company Hilcorp. The fuel would be transferred from ships to the tanks on the left, still in liquid form, before being converted back into gas and sent into a pipeline.
Utilities say Alaska needs an LNG import terminal. Consumers could end up paying for two.
