Grateful for community generosity
I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks to our community for the success of the Christ Lutheran Church Annual Diaper Drive.
This year’s generosity truly astounded us. While I didn’t get an exact count, I can report that we collected three times more diapers than last year! This result is a direct testament to the kindness of our neighbors and local businesses.
We are profoundly grateful to the following for their generous donations: Safeway of Soldotna; Fred Meyer of Soldotna; Walmart of Kenai; Save-U-More (K-Beach); Thrivent Corporation; Sue Biggs, Judy Swarner and Deb Nyquist; and the dedicated congregants of Christ Lutheran Church. A special thank you also goes to Kathy Gensel for managing our assembly table.
These essential diaper packages will be distributed at the upcoming Homeless Connect Event in January. For families in need, this is not just a donation — it’s a vital, practical gift that offers comfort and support, and it is so deeply appreciated.
On behalf of all the volunteers and future recipients, thank you for showing what a caring community we live in. Your generosity will make a real difference.
Sincerely,
Kate Veh, Christ Lutheran Church diaper drive coordinator
Soldotna
