Kenai Central swimmers sweep Soldotna in dual meet

The Kenai Central girls and boys swimming teams swept a dual meet against Soldotna on Friday at Kenai Central.

The Kardinals girls won 10 of 11 events to win 102-61, while the Kenai boys won seven of 11 events to win 92-67.

Kenai’s Isla Crouse was the lone swimmer to take two individual events on the girls side. Crouse won the 100-yard butterfly in 1 minute, 10.74 seconds, and the 100 backstroke in 1:08.85.

On the boys side, Jacob Merritt also took two events for the Kards. He won the 50 freestyle in 24.84 and the 100 butterfly in 1:02.40.

For the Stars, Dwight Brown won the 200 freestyle in 2:03.76 and the 500 freestyle in 5:35.76.
