Saturday volleyball: Kenai, Homer win divisions at Slamma Jamma

The Kenai Central volleyball team won the King Salmon Division, while Homer won the Coho Salmon Division, Saturday at the Southeast Slamma Jamma in Sitka.

After going 16-0 in pool play Thursday and Friday, Kenai swept its way through the top bracket in the tournament Saturday.

The Kardinals defeated Mt. Edgecumbe 2-0, then defeated Palmer 2-0 in the final.

Homer, which was 6-10 in pool play, started bracket play by topping Nome 2-0. The Mariners then defeated Juneau-Douglas: Yaada.at Kale 2-0 for the title.
