State certifies primary election results

The State Review Board announced Monday that all official results of Alaska’s primary election had been certified, with 22.7% of registered voters casting their ballot.

District 29 — Republican

Ben Carpenter: 2,574 votes

Total ballots cast: 2,827

Voter turnout: 17.57%

District 30 — Republican

Ron Gillham: 1,611 votes (58.97%)

Kelly Wolf: 658 votes (24.08%)

Gary Knopp: 463 votes (16.95%)

Total ballots cast: 2,823

Voter turnout: 17.06%

District 31 — Republican

Sarah Vance: 2,417 votes

Total ballots cast: 2,844

Voter turnout: 15.95%

U.S. Senator — Republican

Dan Sullivan: 65,257 votes

Total ballots cast: 70,050

U.S. Senator – Democratic

Al Gross: 50,047 votes (79.87%)

Edgar Blatchford: 5,463 votes (8.6%)

John Wayne Howe: 4165 votes (6.6%)

Chris Cumings: 2989 votes (4.7%)

Total ballots cast: 63,519

U.S. Representative – Republican

Don Young: 51,972 votes (74.2%)

John T. Nelson: 12,344 votes (17.6%)

Gerald Heikes: 3,954 votes (5.6%)

Total ballots cast: 70,050

U.S. Representative – Democratic

Alyse Galvin: 53,258 votes (83.8%)

Ray Sean Tugatuk: 4,858 votes (7.6%)

William Hibler: 3,931 votes (6.2%)

Total ballots cast: 63,519
