Griffin leads Morgan Club Championship

Taking advantage of ideal scoring conditions, Gordon Griffin fired a 2-over-par 74 to take the lead Saturday after the first round of the two-day Donald R. Morgan Memorial Club Championship at Kenai Golf Course.

Griffin has a thick pack of pursuers in back of him, pursuers who all shot in the 70s. Rene Alvarez and Chris Morin are at 76, Todd Eskelin is at 78, and Larry Jackson and Charlie Kahakauwila are at 79.
