The visiting Soldotna hockey team lost a 2-0 decision to Juneau-Douglas: Yadaa.at Kale on Saturday in Northern Lights Conference action.

The Stars are 7-6-2 overall and 2-2 in the league, while the Crimson Bears are 2-6-1 overall and 1-3 in the league.

SoHi had seven power plays and 33 shots on goal, while the Crimson Bears had five power plays and 12 shots. Juneau was able to get a goal, then tack on an empty-net goal.

“Just couldn’t find the back of the net tonight,” SoHi coach Anthony Zurfluh wrote in a text message.

SoHi will play Kenai Central at the Kenai Multi-Purpose Facility on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m.

Kodiak 8, Homer 2

The visiting Bears got a hat trick from Miles Grimes in getting the Saturday win in the Northern Lights Conference.

Kodiak is now 1-9 and 1-3, while Homer is 1-7 and 1-2.

Also scoring for Kodiak were Marek Wyszkowski, Kieran Hayden, Rylee Otto, Thomas Hazlett and Collin Gibbs.

Zane Barth and Walden Kraseski scored for Homer, which fell behind 4-0.

Garrett Wood had 21 saves for the Bears, while Reace Brothers stopped 16 for the Mariners.
