Ninilchik girls drop tourney opener to Cordova

The Cordova girls basketball team defeated Ninilchik 38-30 on Wednesay in the first round of the Interior Conference tournament in Nenana.
The Wolverines are still alive for one of the two automatic berths to the Class 2A state tournament. Ninilchik starts in the second-place bracket Friday at noon by playing the loser of Glennallen and Effie Kokrine.
