Area squads play at Rally in the Valley

The Kenai Central, Soldotna and Homer softball teams opened up play at the Rally in the Valley tournament Thursday.

The Mariners played their games at Wasilla, losing 10-4 to Wasilla and 9-1 to West Valley. Against Wasilla, Ariana Davis was 2 for 2 with two runs, and Julie Guess was 2 for 2 with two RBIs. West Valley was able to hold the Mariners to five hits.

The Stars played their games at Colony Middle School, losing 9-1 to Thunder Mountain and finishing 3-3 with Lathrop. Against Thunder Mountain, Brook Fischer finished 2 for 2.

The Kardinals played at Redington, losing 11-3 to North Pole and losing 6-3 to Kodiak.
