Nikiski competes in pool play at West Valley Invite

The Nikiski volleyball team opened play at the West Valley Invitational on Friday.

The tournament features pool play Friday and Saturday, with the top four teams entering a bracket after pool play.

In pool play Friday, Nikiski split with Wasilla, winning 25-21 and losing 25-14; lost to North Pole 25-15 and 25-18; lost to Bartlett 25-15 and 25-20; split with Monroe Catholic, losing 27-26 and winning 25-18; and lost to Lathrop 27-26 and 25-22.

Nikiski had a late Friday night game against Valdez left in pool play, then three more games Saturday.
